Carlos Sanchez is a dedicated Lieutenant serving with a law enforcement agency in Southern California. Carlos has fulfilled crucial roles as a School Resource Officer and Special Victims Unit detective throughout his career. With over ten years of experience as a presenter, he has been actively engaged with law enforcement and community partners, focusing on essential topics like drug awareness, school safety, bullying, gangs, and social media.

Carlos’s unique background as a native Spanish speaker, born in Acapulco, Mexico, allows him to connect with diverse audiences effectively. Notably, he goes beyond teaching all the Cyber Safety Cop presentations in English, extending his impact by delivering them in Spanish. Carlos remains committed to empowering communities with vital knowledge to promote safety and security in the digital age.

Omar Martinez is a retired lieutenant from the Long Beach Police Department, bringing over two decades of law enforcement experience to his current role as an instructor with Cyber Safety Cop and Total Safety Solutions LLC. Throughout his career, Omar served as a training officer and investigator, playing a critical role in developing officers and leading complex investigations.

He has worked closely with the safety staff at Long Beach State University, where he investigated threats and online incidents affecting students and faculty. Omar’s expertise in digital safety and threat assessment makes him a trusted voice in helping schools and communities prevent and respond to online risks.

Now, Omar shares his knowledge through engaging presentations for parents, educators, and students—equipping them with the tools they need to navigate today’s digital landscape safely and confidently.

Ruben Quintana is a retired police officer with 24 years of dedicated service and currently works as an intervention counselor for an elementary school district. During his law enforcement career, Ruben served as a School Resource Officer, Drug Recognition Expert, and educational public speaker—specializing in youth safety, substance prevention, and community engagement.

Now an instructor with Cyber Safety Cop and Total Safety Solutions LLC, Ruben brings his expertise to schools and families through dynamic presentations on cyber safety, anti-drug and tobacco education, and conflict resolution.

As a bilingual educator, Ruben teaches all of our courses in Spanish, making critical safety education more accessible to Spanish-speaking communities. His work is rooted in his passion for protecting children and empowering families with the knowledge to thrive in today’s digital world.

David Chisum has worked for nonprofit organizations in Orange County as an educator and counselor for students, parents, and young adults.  He is passionate about equipping and building up strong families as well as preparing the younger generation for the complex challenges of adulthood.

With degrees from Notre Dame and Biola University, David’s educational background and real world experiences helped him to empower young people to live confidently and to help families navigate the tough conversations and experiences of life.  His desire to see students and families thriving hasn’t waned over 13 years, and even now has more invested in the effort with his growing family.

Laura Wankel is a seasoned educator with an impressive track record of over 20 years of teaching within public schools. Holding a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Pepperdine University, Laura brings a wealth of knowledge to her profession. 

Her diverse background includes being a former elementary educator, PTO President, and Parent Council Vice President, showcasing her commitment to the education community. As a proud mother of two technologically driven young adults, Laura understands the importance of navigating the digital landscape and is passionate about imparting valuable insights to students and parents.

Kim Brady is a former therapist and Registered Social Worker (RSW) who has spent her career supporting vulnerable children through her work in community agencies and in collaboration with law enforcement. She brings a deep understanding of mental health, resilience, and personal development to every role she serves.

A longtime soccer coach and advocate for youth athletics, Kim now helps athletes successfully transition from sports to the next chapter of their lives. Her passion for service and background in athletics fuel her mission to empower others to live with purpose and achieve their goals.

Kim is also one of the featured instructors of the Online Success for Athletes course, where she teaches student-athletes how to build a positive online presence, avoid digital pitfalls, and prepare for recruitment and life beyond the game.

Mat Aragon is a School Resource Officer with a law enforcement agency in Orange County. Throughout his career, Mat has taken on various vital assignments, such as being a Violent Intruder Response Trainer and educator for students with disabilities. 

Leveraging his expertise and experience, he has been an engaging presenter for over seven years, delivering valuable insights to school groups, community organizations, and police/fire agencies. Mat’s presentations encompass various topics, including campus safety, social media and online safety, drug awareness, bullying, and critical decision-making skills, contributing significantly to building safer and well-informed communities.
